Meet Elizabeth M. Adams, Chief AI Ethics Advisor at Paravision, a United Nations AI Ethics Advisor, a Stanford University Fellow on Race & Technology. Elizabeth is an Advisor to the 3C multi-nation and multi-stakeholder process for the Office of the Under-Secretary-General and Special Advisor on Preparations for the 75th UN Anniversary and the Secretary General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation. On 11th June 2020, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres presented a set of recommended actions for the international community to help ensure all people are connected, respected, and protected in the digital age. The Secretary-General’s Roadmap for Digital Cooperation is the result of a multi-year, multi-stakeholder, global effort to address a range of issues related to the Internet and Artificial Intelligence, and other digital technologies. Elizabeth also worked on the City of Minneapolis’ Strategic and Racial Equity Action Plan where she advocated for the use of transparent tech design in predictive analytics used in bail algorithms, data collected from body cameras, facial recognition, and video surveillance.
