Meet the Founder and CEO of HigherSteaks, Benjamina Bollag, the company that’s making cruelty-free, antibiotic-free, sustainable cell-based bacon and pork belly! HigherSteak’s state-of-the-art cell culture techniques, uses a small sample of cells from an animal. They then expand those cells by feeding the cells a rich and animal free growth media. When these cells have grown, they trasform them to become muscle, fat and other types of tissue in order to form the desired meat product which for now is bacon and pork belly.
